The Nikki Lee column – I’m a happy Hammer

Glamour model Nikki Lee – a big West Ham and England fan – is a happy Hammer after her side’s victory in the Championship play-off final. Here, she reflects on the win and also gives her opinions on some ex-Hammers.

You tipped Ricardo Vaz Te to be West Ham’s match winner in the play-off final – what’s your hot tip for this week?

It’s going to be hot this week!

How were you feeling during the play-off final – and how did you feel when the final whistle went?

I was a bundle of nerves on Saturday.

I was gutted that I couldn't get to Wembley as I had to work and wouldn't have made it in time.

I watched it on Sky with my dad, but had to leave during the second half! He rang with the good news when I got to work!

I was soooooooooooo happy! It seemed like the longest minutes to the final whistle ever.

How will West Ham get on in the Premier League next season?

I think they'll be ok! They've come this far, but they just need to focus big time. Anything’s possible!

Is Sam Allardyce the best man for the job?

In my opinion no, but you can’t have everything can you? Oh, and he chews gum on tv – that’s gross!

On to ex Hammers now – what do you make of what Paolo Di Canio and Frank Lampard have achieved this season?

Paolo Di Canio is one of my dad’s ultimate favourite players! I love hearing the Hammers fans chanting his name, even though he’s a manager for a different team, he’s an ex Hammer done good! Frank should still be a Hammer!

He’s done really well bless him. I recently met Frank’s fiancee Christine at a tv show and she was lovely. Frank’s another ex Hammer done good!

And, finally what do you make of ex Hammer Rio Ferdinand being left out of the England squad?

I don’t really know what to make of it. Maybe only time will tell if it was right to leave him out.
