World class keeper signs for Total Football

Total Football is delighted to announce its latest signing - one of the leading lights in the professional women's game.

Sweden are right up there at the top of women's international football and we have secured a major transfer coup by bringing world class goalkeeper HEDVIG LINDAHL on board as a Total Football columnist.

Hedvig is one of the top professional women's goalkeepers in the world. She has represented Sweden at the World Cup (2003, 2007 and 2011), Olympics (2004 and 2008) and European Championships (2005 and 2009).

The Kristianstads DFF keeper started her career with Gropptorps IF in 1987. She went on to play for Baggetorps IF, DFK Varmbol, Tunafors SK / Eskilstuna United, Malmo, Linkopings and Kopparbergs/Goteborg.

Her prized possession is a World Cup runners-up medal and she has been goalkeeper of the year three times in Sweden - in 2004, 2005 and 2009. She played in the 2011 World Cup semi-final defeat against Japan in Germany and in Sweden's 2-1 win against France in the third place play-off.

She has two Swedish Cup winners medals and no less than four Swedish League runners-up medals.

Hedvig's column will appear in the women's section of this website.
