RVP, Rooney and Kagawa's porn star girlfriend

Interesting times at Manchester United. For starters, Robin van Persie has paid almost a sixth of his £24m transfer fee off already. But it could be so much better.

RVP should definitely be on at least six goals not just four, after a laughable penalty miss and another sitter that he blew at St Mary's.

The other big regret as Sir Alex Ferguson celebrated his 1,000th match with a win was that Van Persie can't team up with Wayne Rooney in what many saw as THE dream scoring partnership.

Fergie and Roo have fallen out again and on top of that Rooney is injured and out for at least a month.

But as for the speculation that the little chub Scouser is to sold for £50m... well, Rooney is going nowhere - except to have his stitches out in a few weeks time.

Overdrive

That speculation went into overdrive after a story that Rooney was persona non grata at Old Trafford after turning up overweight and with a bad attitude for pre-seaon training.

Well surprise, surprise.

Nobody is going to come up with the £50m that United would want for Rooney - and he is worth it because when he wants to be he is one of the world's best players, right up there with Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. The key to all that is in that phrase 'when he wants to be'.

All too often we have seen Rooney throw a strop like a spoilt little kid, with England and United, and eventually, good as he is, people will get fed up with him.

I like him as a player but if I can get fed up with him then I can imagine what Fergie must have been going through over these past few years. I pity the poor bloke, Fergie that is, because not ony has he got this massive problem on his plate, now he has another potential troublesome scenario to deal with involving new signing Shinji Kagawa.

Porn star

United's new Japanese star has been an instant hit, but Fergie's reaction to his girlfriend Ameri Inchinose (pictured), who is a Japanese porn star, is one the red top tabloids are going to have a field day with.

Imagine the reaction when Ameri walks into the players' lounge with that Geisha girl smile and those long legs!

Fergie is old school when it comes to things like this. He wasn't keen on sarong-wearing David Beckham's off the field lifestyle and remember what happened there, he got a boot thrown at him before being shipped out of Old Trafford.

Kagawa and Robin van Persie seem to have hit it off where it matters, so things can keep ticking over on the pitch while Fergie deals with the behind the scenes issues.

While all this nonsense was making the headlines in our newspapers it was interesting to see two other football-related stories on websites that left a nice, warm glow, rather than a feeling of disgust.

Support

Italian striker Antonio di Natale is to adopt the disabled sister of his former colleague Piermario Morosini, who died after suffering a heart attack during a game last season. The girl is the only remaining member of Morosini's family and di Natale and others have now pledged to support her financially.

A nice touch and one worthy of true praise. I have always liked di Natale as a player, now it's nice to know he is a decent human being too.

The other was the story of how Barcelona have taken on a young Brazilian boy who was born with no feet. He has been taken into their academy and he can play despite his handicap.

Barca have a good track record in this sort of thing. It was their help and financial support for Messi, who had a growth problem as a kid, that endeared him to the club and it's why he will never leave them. Why would he want to anyway?

United's players could learn a thing or two from di Natale and Barcelona.
