Blackburn Rovers agree £8m fee for Jordan Rhodes
Blackburn Rovers are close to signing Scotland international striker Jordan Rhodes (pictured) after an £8m fee was agreed with fellow Championship side Huddersfield Town.
The prolific Rhodes, 22, is set to undergo a medical at Ewood Park on Thursday with the deal set to be completed in time before Friday’s transfer deadline.
The news comes as a further boost to Steve Kean and Blackburn Rovers who have started life in the second tier quite well amounting seven points from nine available.
Huddersfield have been resigned to losing their talisman for a few transfer windows now given Rhodes meteoric rise which has led to the striker scoring over 70 goals for the Terriers since a 2010 switch from Ipswich Town.
Earlier in the month, Huddersfield manager Simon Grayson damned the pursuit of Rhodes by Blackburn claiming it was wrong for Rovers to go public in their admiration of the forward.
Rhodes has already scored two league goals this season against Nottingham Forest and Burnley also registering his first senior international strike for Scotland in a friendly with Australia at Easter Road earlier this month.
Rhodes will join Leon Best, Nuno Gomes, David Goodwillie and Edinho Junior in the attacking ranks at Ewood Park.
