Could it be a Wise old move for Coventry City?
League One Coventry City parted company with manager Andy Thorn on Sunday and could be set to replace him with former Millwall and Leeds United manager Dennis Wise who is among a long list of managerial successors.
Wise (pictured), who has been out of work for four years now following the conclusion of his spell at Leeds is ready to have another crack at management and following a distinguished playing career and an adequate shot at coaching, he could be a sensible appointment at the West Midlands side.
Another former Leeds boss in Kevin Blackwell is also in the frame in turning around the Sky Blues fortunes and securing an immediate return to the Championship.
Many had predicted the Ricoh Arena-based side to be in and around the top end of League One this term following some exciting arrivals and having been a former Premier League club but this has counted for nothing thus far with the Sky Blues only managing three draws in their opening games against Yeovil, Sheffield United and Bury.
Coventry have not set a deadline for announcing Andy Thorn’s successor but fans will be hoping that a new manager arrives soon enough to build morale ahead of a fresh start.
The Sky Blues will have caretaker managers Richard Shaw and Lee Carsley in temporary charge for their Capital One Cup second round game at home to nearby rivals Birmingham City this week.
