Doncaster gave Cotterill a new lease of life
David Cotterill says Doncaster Rovers have given him a new lease of life.
The 25-year-old Welsh international midfielder admitted he thought his playing career might not be going anywhere after he was released by Barnsley. But he was signed by Doncaster on a two-year contract last summer.
"Things had definitely stalled because I'd had two years of not playing regularly," he said. "Thankfully, I've contributed well to the team this year."
Cotterill has been a key player in Rovers' push for promotion this season, with 10 goals for the Yorkshire club and 20 assists.
League One leaders Doncaster, two points clear of second-placed Bournemouth and five ahead of third-placed Brentford, take on play-off hopefuls Tranmere on Saturday.
