FA Cup brings smile to Buckle's face‏

League Two outfit Bristol Rovers have been caught up in FA Cup fever after Sunday’s third round draw saw them paired with Premier League giants Aston Villa.

Manager Paul Buckle guided The Pirates into the third round by seeing off AFC Totton 6-1 on Sunday afternoon. Their reward was announced shortly after the final whistle when drawn at home against the seven time FA Cup winners.

"It's a cracking draw. The first thing you want is a Premier League club and the chance to play them at the Memorial Stadium will be great. It brings a smile to my face,” said Buckle.

The draw will lift spirits around the club in a season that sees The Pirates floating around the bottom echelons of League Two in 18th position, nine points clear of the drop zone.

"It's a reward for our supporters too, who have followed us up and down the country over the first half of the season,” he added.

Bristol Rovers will take on Aston Villa during the weekend of January 7-8.
