UEFA slap further ban on John Terry
Chelsea captain John Terry will miss the club’s first two European games next season after UEFA’s disciplinary panel extended his suspension for kneeing Barcelona’s Alexis Sanchez in the last campaign.
Terry served his mandatory one-match ban in the Champions League final, but is now also ineligible for the Super Cup fixture against Europa League winners Athletico Madrid and Chelsea’s first Champions League group game.
The club have three days to decide whether to appeal the verdict.
Terry has previously apologised for the sending off in last year's semi-final second leg, which could have cost his side dear, saying he had “let his team mates down.”
