Ryan Giggs, Craig Bellamy (pictured) and Micah Richards have been confirmed as the three overage players that will form part of the Team GB squad at the London 2012 Olympics - and if some reports are to be believed, David Beckham could be in line for a place on the standby list.

Kieran Gibbs of Arsenal misses out while Champions League winner Ryan Bertrand earns a place.

Jack Butland, who replaced the injured John Ruddy in England's squad for Euro 2012, has been named as one of the two goalkeepers. It had previously been stated that no players involved in the Euros would be considered for the Olympics.

Team GB coach stuart Pearce said: "From the offset when I was given the opportunity to manage the team, I was given a job to manage as I normally would, looking on form, fitness of players and I deemed this the best squad available for this tournament.

"I have treated all the players in the same manner, I have given plenty of time to view each player's form and this is the squad I have come up with."

When asked about his decision to leave out Beckham, Pearce said: "I have a vast amount of respect for David and what he has done to bring the Olympics here. I have a duty of care to everyone to pick, in my mind, the best squad.

"I don't think there's a football manager around who picks on sentiment."

Pearce’s side will kick off their Olympic campaign against Senegal at Old Trafford on July 26, before heading to Wembley to face the UAE three days later.

Their final group game is against Uruguay in Cardiff's Millenium Stadium on August 1.
