Reading ready to celebrate, but West Ham could overhaul Southampton

Reading will secure promotion to the Premier League on Tuesday night if they pick up more points at home to Nottingham Forest than West Ham manage at Bristol City.

The Royals are six points clear of the Hammers, with three games remaining.

Sam Allardyce’s side could go second on goal difference if they beat Bristol City and Southampton lose at Peterborough. The Saints currently have a three-goal advantage over West Ham on goal difference.

Middlesbrough could move into the play-off spots if they beat relegated Doncaster, while Portsmouth could be relegated – Pompey’s relegation to League One will be confirmed if Bristol City beat West Ham, regardless of Portsmouth’s result against Crystal Palace.
