Ling confident he can turn Gulls' fortunes around

Torquay United boss Martin Ling has vowed to halt the club's slide down the League Two table and turn the Gulls' bad form around.

Ling saw his team extend their winless run to seven games on Saturday after Gillingham handed them a 5-2 home defeat, but remains defiant he can reverse the club's fortunes.

"I don't think it's crisis point at this moment in time," the former Swindon Town and Leyton Orient winger said.

The Gulls boss says he believes in his current squad and dismissed any thoughts that the run will continue. "It's for me to find them answers. You can't brush it under the carpet, you have to take it on the chin, accept is as a manager and do something about it."

Ling takes his team to another of his old stomping grounds on Saturday when Torquay make the long trip to Southend United.
